Chris Quilala (from Jesus Culture) just came on with his version of Lifehouse’s “Everything”
This is a song that has always spoken to me.
“Find me here speak to me
I want to feel You I need to hear You
You are the light that's leading me
To the place where I find peace again”
Because it seems to me that God does fine me where I am, and he does speak to me.
I want to hear and feel him in my life – his light leads me to a place of peace and security.
“You are the strength that keeps me walking
You are the hope that keeps me trusting
You are the life to my soul
You are my purpose
You are everything”
The words above are so true – because I found Jesus I was wondering, lost, weak…and now he is my strength, he is my hope…he gives my life purpose, he is everything.
“And how can I stand here with You
And not be moved by You
Would You tell me how could it be any better than this”
These lines especially have always moved me – how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you. Honestly, in the light of the King of the World. In light of the King of Glory. In light of a gracious and loving Holy Father, how how could I not be moved? How could I not follow?
When I feel God’s love and power in my life, when I see how he moves and protects and loves, and when I have those moments of meeting with him – how could I not be moved by Him?
And how can I not pray that others would be moved similarly? And that they would respond to him? I am so thankful, so in awe, so in love…and yet I don’t know how to explain him to people in a way that would open a door to these experiences. I just know that it is real and I am glad.
"You're all I want
You're all I need
Everything, everything"
Sometimes I get distracted, sometimes I get side tracked, but the life I want to live centers around God. He is everything
I’m thankful for Jesus Culture, Passion Band and Hillsong for putting into words the things I do not know how to express.
Oh and side note: when I was looking up the lyrics to Everything google suggested I look at the lyrics for "Give me Everything" by Pitbull and Ne-yo which is a VERY different song. It also happens to be one of my favorite songs - which seems ridiculous to say after the post above.
But there you go.
I love worship music and rap. Deal with it.

Didn't realize our musical tastes were so similar ;)
(BOB - Airplanes = fave). Lyrical combined with piano combined with rap = perfect, haha.
