Summer Sublet / Menu Plan Monday

Menu Plan Monday:

Monday: Salad with grilled chicken
Tuesday: Bulk Pasta with Veggies for lifegroup served with garlic cheese bread from Costco USA
Wednesday: Fridge Forage
Thursday: Roasted Asparagus, baked chicken & Roasted Zucchini
Friday: Women’s Retreat
Saturday: Women’s Retreat
Sunday: Fridge Forage

This week is interesting. Mondays is my standing date with my mom now, but it also often has church meetings on – and this Monday is the going away party of one of my best friends, Stefany. So I’ve had to juggle how to do all the things I need to do and prioritize what I can miss. So I am seeing my mom and then swinging by Stef’s party. She leaves tomorrow and I must see her!

Tuesday is lifegroup as per usual and Wednesday is my only free evening – though I have a phone meeting to have and grocery shopping to do…so yeah, very free. Thursday I see my sister and we get to hang out in her new house, wahoo. Then Friday it’s off to the Womens Retreat right after work. We’ll return Sunday in time for church and possibly crashing with exhaustion.

I’ve still got a few blog posts brewing…there have been many topics bumbling around in my head but that will need to wait until I have a spare second to write. In the meantime here is our ad for our house – we want to sublet this summer. Please let me know if you have any leads on people that need a place for the summer in Vancouver.

Granville Island Again and time with the nephews

Yet again I have Granville Island Pictures to post.
You can see more here.
Twice in one weekend!

Anyways...my parents walk to Granville Island every day from their house.
It's about 30 minutes from their house along a sea side walk.
I've posted about this before but it is so beautiful it bears repeating.

We walked along the seawall.
The day was beautiful.
My mom kept pointing out the sweetest flowers growing in stone.

Mom and me - loving the fresh air

We found an Open House.
For the cement factory.
Of course we ventured in.

My mom has always loved taking us to Open Houses.
For years we went to random open houses...
...sawmills, parks, businesses, etc

We tried to get some mini hardhats for the boys but they were out
Sad times

However, we did take a walk and get to learn something about cement

and port o potties in cement bricks

Oh Granville Island and your food.
Blue Parrot Coffee shop where my parents stop every day.
Seriously, the baristas know my dad when I give his number for the punch card.
 "Oh you're Jory's daughter!"
Yup, that's me.
Jory's daughter.
Love it.

You can tell you're with Mitchell's when 5 packages of Splenda are used for 2 coffee's

Things I did not eat or spend money on.
VICTORY.
Because OH did I want to

More things I didn't eat!

So many healthy choices!

Too be fair, I didn't eat this either and it's healthy but that was about saving money.
We had salad at home afterwards.

The walk home

My parents back yard.
God is so good.

Jenna's new backyard
Jenna and Colin moved into a house.
A real house!
With backyard room for the little boys.

Mom and I kept the boys occupied while the Jenna and Colin moved in and set up.
We took a walk to the playground.

It was hard to focus on the camera...it kept freezing.
As you can see by mom's face, the confusion of the camera was high.

Connor forgot his socks and had to run back to grab them.
He was so excited to head to the park he ran to me and his grandma

What you can't see is that he is clutching Binoculars so that he can see where we'll go.
Then he looked at me seriously and said, make sure you keep an eye on me.
Melt my heart.

All in all a pretty great Saturday.

busy busy busy

Wanna know why my blog days have been short lately?

I'll tell you.

Binders.

Tabs.

Bindings.

Labelled Dividers.

Meetings.

Lunches.

Outfits.

You know - busy and fabulous :p

This? ^
and this? v

with...
8 tabbed, labelled, and divided sections.
Collated into 21 books.
FOREVER. Yikes

But at least I felt cute.
I love me a turquoise scarf!

And the meetings.
Coffee, pop, water, desserts and lunch for meetings.
I love a chance to dish up food.
Seriously.
This makes me happy.
Even if it's not in my home.
Food loves people, no matter why or where it's served.

And that none of these photos capture the multi sectioned, multi labelled, multi coloured binders I collated for an upcoming board meeting.
My job is a roller coaster of excitement.

Seriously though, I love it.
Great company.
Great coworkers.
Great boss.

God has been very gracious with me.
My job is a blessing.

Finally got home at the end of the long week and stuck to my health goals.
Dinner was veggie kabobs and sautéed spinach with roast turkey breast.

I warn that a picture heavy post is coming
Saturday was a FULL day and muchly documented
Get ready for it
